Home schooling again!
The last lockdown was the same but it kind of went on the backburner as lets be honest the last lockdown was a bit of a summer holiday for some of us that were lucky enough to get furloughed.
This time round we have to take home-schooling a bit more seriously as it might be another long-haul lockdown and we don’t want our kids to go back to school forgetting her ABDs and counting to 1, 2, 3, 5, 4, 7, 9, 8, 10.
Could not be more grateful to the effort put into home-schooling from my kid’s teacher. It gives us something to focus on each day and definitely makes it easier to work from a professional plan rather than us googling “how to teach your kids” every morning.
This got me thinking, if I’m the teacher what a great opportunity to teach my kids something they might not get taught from the school curriculum.
Been thinking about the skillsets needed to ensure they are going out into the world with the right tools to do their own thing without relying on the government or a crisis coming along and taking their livelihood form under them. And when this does happen, they will be in a better place than most to re-build new opportunities.
So, I decided to teach my 7-year-old daughter how to start her own business.
Hopefully, this will develop the knowledge and tool set that will allow her imagination, ingenuity and inspiration to flourish.
Entrepreneurism is a skill set that can be followed by anyone with the right work ethic.
Teaching our kids this now will in time create the creative, enlightened adults this city will need.
We can have all the ideas in the world, but we need entrepreneurs to take them forward, let’s start the ball rolling.
We are beginning the project with some brainstorming, wish me luck, I’ve spent a couple of hours already explaining that we cant sell Unicorns or Pandas, but I might have to compromise.
